Crayon Cookie Boxes

Crayon Cookie Boxes

For Teacher Appreciation 2021 I created my first iteration of the crayon cookie boxes. They were a hit! This year I've simplified things and hope that the post I'm about to share will help you choose the right cookie cutter, box, and box front printable for you. *Please note that it's always a best practice to make your own sample cookies and photograph them to sell. It helps your customers see exactly what they're going to get and it helps you make sure that all of your cookies & packaging fit together to avoid surprises and disasters in the end! In other words, please don't use my photographs to sell your cookies!

Steps:

Print out the file on cardstock (here is one cardstock I like). Make sure that you are NOT scaling the print and that it is printing at 100% scale in order to ensure accurate sizing.

Another alternative to save ink or if you don't have a good printer is having the file print at an office supply store.

Cut out the print using scissors or a paper trimmer (You will probably have to use scissors to get to the white cut out portion).

Bag and seal your cookies (I prefer heat sealing and I use my 3x11 bags for the small crayons and 5x7 bags for the tall crayons)

Slide your cookies into the box and then slide the printable into the box. If you find that your cookies are not filling up the top of the box as you'd like, you can always use tape attached to the bag & printable to help with placement.

You're done!

As for pricing, I always like to start at $2 per mini cookie and add $1-2 for packaging. These are pretty small and simple mini cookies, so I'd probably charge $1.75-$2 per cookie including the packaging.  Go with a price point that makes purchasing your materials and making these cookies worth it for you while balancing a price point that a customer would be willing to pay. Your goal is to sell all of your boxes and make a profit!
